Self-guided walking

A number of trails have been created around the homestead, Donkey Hills and the river for guests to use. The river area has regenerated very well naturally just from protection and many water birds nest and live there.

BBQ slide show

Bob has a series of ‘before and after’ slides documenting the recovery of the vegetation in the river system after the removal of sheep. These slides are often shown to guests after a BBQ in the (now defunct for shearing) Shearing Shed.

Herbarium collection

We have a herbarium collection of local vegetation that is constantly added too and updated. Samples are collected, photographed, their description and location recorded and taken home for pressing and mounting. Interested guests can come collecting flora samples with us.

Riverside Sanctuary is only 80km’s from the coastal town of Kalbarri and only 35km’s from the spectacular Kalbarri National Park.

There are many things to do in Kalbarri including visiting the river gorges, the coastal cliffs, relaxing on the beach, horse-riding, canoeing and fishing. We can help you plan a visit and make bookings for you.
